Inspired by Project 365, I plan to post more – more recipes, more photos, more restaurant reviews, more local food sources, more garden experiments – in the coming year, and I’m getting a jump start today. Because it allows me to experiment and be creative, cooking provides some work/life balance, but it sometimes ends up on the back-burner when my schedule gets hectic. Therefore I’m hoping that my own Project 365 helps me prioritize something I enjoy.
I’m starting my Project 365 with some menu planning, which might seem odd, but I just got a new cookbook (Ellie Krieger’s comfort food fix) and I’m eager to try some of the recipes.
Here are my tentative menus for the next few days:
- December 28th (W): Simply Perfect Split Pea Soup (comfort food fix, p. 104)
- December 29th (Th): Autumn Vegetable Curry (comfort food fix, pp. 208-210)
- December 30th (Fri): Stuffed Potato Skins with Avocado Cream (comfort food fix, pp. 68-70)
- December 31st (Sat): New Year’s Eve! – Simply Thai Sushi
- January 1st (Sun): Broccoli-Cheddar Soup (comfort food fix, pp. 95-96)
I also want to try Krieger’s Pimento Cheese recipe (comfort food fix, p. 89) and her Sesame Whole-Wheat Soft Pretzels (comfort food fix, pp. 64-65) this week. Both should be good bowl game snacks!
