My next stop in the Angkor Archaeological Park was Angkor Thom. Pich dropped me off outside the South Gate so that I could walk through and take pictures. He then took me to Bayon, where I took lots of pictures of the faces and bass reliefs before walking through the rest of the Angkor Thom site.
I was battling the heat, so I didn’t take many pictures of the rest of the site, but a modern water pump with the ancient ruins in the background caught my eye. Like Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom probably merits at least one full day to more fully explore the site.
