Mosaic, Downtown St. Louis

While in St. Louis for the Conference on College Composition and Communication, I had an opportunity to try Mosaic Modern Fusion (1001 Washington Ave.). No pictures, because we were too busy enjoying the good food, but almost all the dishes were a hit.

We tried:

  • Compressed watermelon and goat cheese (good, but didn’t live up to the hype),
  • North African-style hummus (delicious)
  • Herbed potato gnocchi (best restaurant gnocchi I’ve had in a long time – not too salty)
  • Maple-sherry glazed scallops (divine)
  • Pulled Korean BBQ Pork, served in a baked apple (good, had a kick)
  • Grilled fresh asparagus (wonderful)
  • Flash-fried baby artichoke hearts (yum)
  • Trio of mini waffle cones with gelato (2 of the 3 were good, 1 was odd)

I’d go back for the scallops, gnocchi, asparagus, and artichoke hearts. Then I’d skip the mini waffle cone trio and order another plate of scallops for dessert.
