Ballygally, Ireland

After flying into Dublin, my parents and I drove to Ballygally (in Northern Ireland), sticking to the coast until fatigue necessitated a more direct route. Since it was Sunday morning when we arrived, not much was open en route.

We’re staying at Ballygally Castle Hotel for the first three nights. The location is a nice jumping off point for exploring much of Northern Ireland, since Ballygally Castle Hotel is on the Coastal Causeway and directly across the A2 from the ocean.

Although we explored the local communities, we eventually returned to the hotel pub for dinner. My dad and I enjoyed fish and chips with mushy peas (with a fun mustard seed zing), and my mom had lentil and bacon soup.

Our goal for the rest of the evening is simply to stay up long enough to ensure a restful evening of sleep before tomorrow’s adventures…
